HISTORY

The Manitoba Camping Association (MCA) was established in 1937 to promote organized camp for children and families. Camp provides an excellent opportunity for children and youth to develop life skills and an appreciation for the great outdoors.

In addition to supporting organized camp and promoting best practices, the MCA is a registered charity that collects donations every year to provide children from low-income families the opportunity to attend one of our accredited camps.

For over 40 years the MCA has worked with the Winnipeg Free Press creating and maintaining the Sunshine Fund which has provided more than 26,920 children the opportunity to attend camp. While the Association has impacted the lives of many children since its inception, there are more children that require our support each year.
